Highlights
First Plymouth rolled off the line on June 11, 1928 and was
apparently considered by Chrysler as a 1929 model. Generally Model Q
Plymouths are considered 1928 models today and the Model U is
considered the 1929.
Advertising claimed “smooth speed up to 60 and more mile an
hour.” The Plymouth came from the factory with four wheel
internal expanding drum hydraulic brakes and full pressure
lubrication.

Paint
[Chrysler 1929a],
dated January 8, 1929, indicates that prior to serial number RH 103 C cars other
than phaetons and roadsters were finished using Pittsburgh Plate Glass's Mimax
materials. All phaetons, all roadsters and all cars after serial number RH 103 C
were finished with DuPont Duco materials. It was specifically noted that while
the color names were often the same for the two vendors products, the colors
were different.
