1928 Plymouth 1937 Plymouth Plymouth: The First Decade

November 2-4, 2001 – Yosemite Valley

There were a couple of fall tours put on by local car clubs that I wanted to participate in. Alas, required Ski Patrol refreshers conflicted with them. What to do?

The Far West Division of the National Ski Patrol holds a “Tri-Advisory” educational seminar for those interested in Avalanche, Mountaineering and/or Nordic disciplines. It is held in Yosemite valley in early November, a time in which the valley is particularly pretty. Crisp fall air and an abundance of black oak displaying fall colors are worth the trip.

So we loaded up the 1933 Plymouth and had both an old car tour and a Ski Patrol educational experience.

1934 First a picture from the family album. This picture is simply labeled “1934”. It looks like Yosemite to me and I know my mother's family took camping vacations in Yosemite when she was young. The car looks to be of 1932, 1933 or 1934 vintage. I can't tell what make, but I am told that Gramps was a Studebaker man back then.
